About Our Chapter
You're running an organization. Your calendar is full. Your board meets. Your team looks to you. And still — the questions that matter most, you often ask no one.
YPO New Mexico is a trusted community of chief executives who have decided to stop leading alone. Forum peers who've sat in your chair. Conversations under NDA. Programming you'd actually clear your calendar for. And a network of 35,000+ leaders in 150+ countries when you need it.
We meet at retreats in the high desert, in Santa Fe galleries, in each other's homes, and on Zoom when a member needs help at 10 p.m. And YPO membership isn't temporary — when members age out of YPO at 55, they transition to YPO Gold, carrying the relationships and global network forward for life.
Why New Mexico
We are small by design. Unlike larger chapters where members can go a year without crossing paths, New Mexico members know each other by name and by story. Our geography — from the Sandias to Santa Fe galleries to high-desert ranches — gives us convening settings that bigger-city chapters simply can't replicate. And our membership reflects the industries that make this state distinctive: national labs, energy, healthcare, hospitality, film, agriculture, and founders building something new.
In Their Own Words
I resisted joining YPO, convinced I didn't have the time. I couldn't have been more wrong. YPO has been a true game changer for me — both as a leader and as a person. My forum has become an extraordinary community of leaders navigating the same complex realities, professionally and personally. I often arrive at meetings feeling overwhelmed; I leave a few hours later grounded, heard, supported, and re-energized for what's ahead. Beyond forum, YPO has expanded my world — introducing me to a deeply meaningful network of peers locally, nationally, and globally, many of whom I now count as close friends. YPO is something I once thought I didn't need — and now can't imagine my life without.
What surprised me most about YPO wasn't the network — it was the caliber of experiences you simply can't access anywhere else. Executive education with world-class faculty. Global events that reshape how you think about leadership. And locally, programming that consistently delivers: from AI deep-dives with national experts to intimate conversations with dynamic New Mexico leaders. YPO doesn't just connect you with peers — it continually raises your game.
There are many conferences, but the YPO Industry Events are the only ones where I consistently know I will bring back the latest and most impactful information to my business — and that my time will be maximized with proven speakers and incredible connections.
The Global Family Business Network has been instrumental in supporting our generational transition, enabling clearer communication and stronger outcomes. These events have great connection and amazing open support that I would not have found anywhere else.
In my profession, I have access to top leaders and consultants who help us improve our business. Before I found YPO, I didn't have access to that same caliber of perspective outside my industry. I also lacked a network of peers in similar roles facing similar challenges. By joining YPO, I found fellow leaders running organizations in different industries, solving problems in ways I hadn't considered. Leading an organization can be lonely, but through YPO I gained trusted peers and confidants who support me and push me to be better. What would you do with your own personal Board of Directors?

Chapter events are held monthly during the learning year, roughly September through June. Programming includes lunch-and-learns, social events, family events, and the annual Presidents' Retreat. Forums meet monthly (3–4 hours per session, with two months off in the summer). The chapter is intentionally small — around 40 members — so every gathering feels personal.

A referral is helpful but not required. You can begin the conversation directly with our Membership Officer.
What happens when I turn 55?
YPO members in good standing transition to YPO Gold, the post-55 community, and retain lifelong access to the global network.
Are spouses and families included?
Yes. Family programming and spouse/partner events are a core part of the chapter experience — including our annual retreat, holiday events, and more.
Is my inquiry confidential?
Absolutely. Inquiries are seen only by the Membership Officer and Chapter Manager.
